Newsflash | Happy B-Day to the Croc!!!

I absolutely love fashion history and especially the small facts which turned into massive game changers within the industry. Take the development of the ordinary polo shirt for example. It was 7 time grand Slam Champion, tennis player, René Lacoste, who decided he had enough of the basic tennis gear that was common for his time and so he came up with a complete new top made out of a knitted piqué, which would change history for ever. Yes you read it right L.A.C.O.S.T.E.…famous for the crocodile emblem embroidered polo shirts! And if you are wondering about the crocodile logo itself … it was derived from Lacoste’s nickname in the media, ‘The Alligator’. Because René also fancied the nickname himself he finally decided to ask his tailor to embroider a crocodile on his left breast of his polo shirt and so the logo was born!

This year the brand celebrates its 80th Birthday and just like all those years ago the marque is still going strong! Especially for this milestone the company created 12 limited edition 80 polo shirts! Furthermore they just launched their new male & female fragrances as well and they just started selling their new Lacoste Live! Collection. I absolutely adored a lot of items in their new line and so my wish list grew once more! I’m telling you guys you should really check out their collections, for also if you’re not into playing tennis, nowadays they design the coolest items for everyone!
