Looking for the perfect summer hangouts in Antwerp? Well I’ve made a must-visit pop-up list for you guys if you feel like spending your lazy afternoons, just chilling by the water, enjoying the sun, sipping on some cocktails, relaxing on some nice lounge chairs or eating some delicious food.
1. Bocadero
On the outskirt of the city, all-time favourite pop up beach bar, Bocadero, arose once more. Their based at the parking lot of Waagnatie and as always they supply you with the best views along the river Schelde … Especially if you want to enjoy a nice sunset then this is the place to go (check out the photo above)! Moreover, it’s the perfect place to dance the night away on some crazy ass DJ beats and they even have their own salsa night on Tuesdays, so shake that body if you want to and turn into a gorgeous latina or latino! Bocadero will be opened until Sunday the 7th of September, every day starting from 12 o’clock .
2. Glow
This bar and restaurant which is located at the grounds of Kunst aan de Stroom, at Linkeroever is run by Belgian chef Wout Bru and his companions. The location has its own bars, lounge areas and a restaurant. They offer their customers what seems like refined food, but unfortunately we weren’t able to try anything so I can’t inform you guys on that subject, but I can say that they make a mean Gin & Tonic. Glow is opened daily from 11:30 till 23:30.
3. Jospehine’s Summer Bar & Restaurant
This fab little hide a way in the middle of Antwerp City, is a well-executed new hotspot. Jospehine’s, also known by their delicious cocktails, decided to open an outdoor bar and restaurant this summer. Their located in the garden of Brouwerij De Koninck and they truly changed the scene into a magical place, full of beach chairs, hammocks and quirky old lamp shades to lighten up all of your darkest days ;)! As always they serve the most delicious and well prepped cocktails, but they also offer a wonderful refreshing ice coffee for example and OMG did I mention the food already? No I did not … The meat OH LORDIE LORD, the most wonderfull pieces of dry-aged steaks, slow cooked pork belly and what have you more! But for all you non-meat-lovers no worries the complete menu is to die for! The Josephine’s Summer Bar & Restaurant is open every day of the week, but their times may vary so I recommend checking out their website www.josephines.be for accurate opening hours!
So go out and have some Fun In The City this Summer!
P.s. From what I’ve seen Strantwerpen looks great this year too, overseeing the harbour and the city. However I haven’t checked it out this season yet, so I can’t tell you guys whether or not you should go their, but hey let's be honest … It’s always fun to find out things for yourself as well right ;)!?
