Ahhhh I’ve been dying to share one of my favourite new cookbooks from the last few months with you guys! This is French cuisine at its best! Ofcourse I’m talking about non other than my favourite Britisch girl on the continent, Rachel Khoo! After launching her third paperback two years ago (read about it here), she did it again! ‘Mijn Franse Keuken’ (or in English 'My Little French Kitchen') is the fourth piece of work by 'cette demoiselle', which just makes you want to run to the kitchen and start cooking. Not only does it include a fantastic job on gorgeous photography, it also features region dishes from all over France.
Mostly I just use culinary literature as a source of inspiration, but this time I actually already brought some of her dishes into practice. I made the melon and floral Charlotte Russe depicted down below (btw if you make this dish use a very ripe melon for the best flavour), I created my very first pâté en croute, which you might have seen slipping by on social media (here) and to tip it off … after a trip to France, where my daddy bought me an official cannelés baking tray (which I wanted to have FOREVER), I also produced some of those delicious Bordelais goodies! So if you’re searching for a fabulous new addition to add to your culinary library … Buy this book. If you want to daydream about fantastic holidays, cosy weather & delicious food … Buy this book. If you’re searching for a wonderful Christmas present … guess what!? Just buy this book!
