It’s safe to say that Primark is taken over the Dutch streetscape! Yesterday I was invited to attend the opening of their Arnhem store. Apparently it’s is supposed to be their largest store in the Netherlands until now. In my opinion some stores appeared to be bigger while they had more floors than Arnhem’s two levels, however I do think there is more actual retail space, which means more shopping fun than ever haha! If I’m really honest I was a bit relieved that there weren’t that many clothes which I wanted to buy, since every time I go I manage to spend such a lot. On the other hand this was compared to my previous visits to Primark, so basically that means there were still some items in my shopping bag left haha!
But then my friends … than I ran into the shoe department and everything went downhill from there! Yes my poor wallet was robbed again! I managed not to buy 1 pair, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5 BUT 6 pairs! I truly feel terrible while I’m typing this down … maybe I should return a pair … although I must admit that my sales do show a vast variety of types of shoes. I bought some work out sports shoes, a pair of denim skater sneakers, a Scandinavian type of block heel shoe, some golden dancing shoes with a firm high heel, a pair of red strap stiletto’s & some immensely high fashion stiletto’s with total foot covering pleather and a cut out on the side. If I do decide to return a pair, it will be those last ones, while I’m not even sure if I’ll be able to stand on them for more than 20 minutes and believe me I own some sky-scraping high heels but these are literally on top of my collection I’m guessing!
Btw I absolutely loved visiting Arnhem. It’s one of the most important Dutch fashion cities, while it houses the most significant design academy of the Netherlands. In addition it has a great look and very warm atmosphere, so it’s definitely worth paying a visit. Have you ever visited this town? And are you such a grant shoe collector as I am?
