Summmmer is coming and so I feel like we could all do with some cleaning up! Cleaning our houses, but maybe also our food habits ;)! Since bikini-time is around the corner, I must admit that I should start to eat a bit more salads! Don’t get me wrong, I’m almost always eating very healthy, but during a warm summer’s day, I feel refreshed after just eating a light lunch or supper!
Rachel Khoo, one of my favourite cooks, must have thought the same thing! She just launched her new book called; Rachel Khoo’s Kookschrift (or in English Rachel Khoo’s Kitchen Notebook). Just like her previous works (read all about it here and here). This one is once more filled with delicious recipes … However I do feel like Ms Khoo tried to healthy things up a bit. Whereas before her books were filled with pies, after tarts, after cakes … now she gave her way of cooking a completely new spin and added recipes like; Poached fennel with shrimps, English garden salad and quick noodle soup, to her repetoir! Don’t be afraid there are also still some delicious baking ideas featured in there, like a pistachio pomegranate pie, but like I said I felt like this book was a bit more healthy compared to her other editions. As always the book is filled with gorge images and illustrations! To be honest I must admit that I sometimes envy Rachel a bit, for in my eyes she’s leading the most wonderful life … but congratulations too her right!? I hope she’s taking a trip to Belgium or the Netherlands soon, because I would be thrilled to meet her! Exchanging ideas on food, techniques and recipes … whaaaa what a dream!
